Microneedling - How does it work?
Microneedling, the treatment that is now part of the daily routine of stars and starlets around the world, is also enjoying growing popularity here. It is considered an all-rounder and is also practiced by doctors as a recognized method for improving the skin. By means of the smallest, controlled micro-injuries to the skin surface, it stimulates the collagen and elastin fibers many times over to produce new healthy cells. Depending on the skin condition and type, the penetration depth of the small needles can be set individually from
0.5mm – 2mm. A great deal of active ingredient can get into the skin via the micro-tubules, so that your skin is also optimally supplied.
The face is first cleaned thoroughly. It starts with a microdermabrasion. This is an devise-based peeling process that frees the skin from dead horny flakes and thus optimally prepares for the subsequent microneedling. The skin is disinfected before needling. According to hygiene regulations, the practitioner wears gloves in order to dutifully avoid possible risk of infection during treatment. The appropriate cocktail of active ingredients is applied piece by piece and worked in with gentle pressure, in a circular motion, in calm movements. With this technique, the client perceives the treatment as a small massage. Sensitive areas can only be perceived as a little uncomfortable. The treatment is usually painless. A slight feeling of tension and warmth immediately after microneedling is quickly relieved with a soothing mask. Finally, a day care product is applied depending on the skin type.
Healing process and downtime
Depending on the skin type and the intensity of the treatment, there may be slight redness and swelling that last for 1-3 days. In addition, there may be slight scaling during this time. These side effects can easily be masked with a little make-up.
